4. Weekly or twice weekly supervision to formally review practice

5. Senior team members available daily to support you

6. Twice weekly professional development scheduled into your calendar

7. Managed caseload with admin staff and the practice manager scheduling when documentation is due to ensuring the amount due each week matches your KPIs set with the clinical director.

8. Weekly company planner arranging your day and ensuring you have time to complete clinical notes, session preparation, collaboration with internal and external professionals, reports and support plans.

9. Set procedures for everything you would need to do in your day so everything runs smoothly.

We value continuous improvement and have a training schedule which commences on your first day, regardless of experience. You will have an internal training portal with access to training courses, weekly/twice weekly supervision and professional development groups with KPIs based upon experience and training.

What is a OT role at TK like?

At TK our OTs are focused on developing cognition and motor skills to improve the self care and self management skills of our clients. We use interactive social models to deliver intervention to ensure our clients are immersed in sessions, enabling the skill to be functionally modelled and acquired. One of the biggest challenges is knowing where to start with a client, which is why we teach you how to assess a client, develop goals and work with our client’s team to ensure development is functionally focused.

Our internal training portal, supervision and PD groups enable you to continuously grow and have the supports to ensure you integrate new knowledge into your practice.

External training including certificates in Sensory Integration, Synergetic Play Therapy, Neurodevelopmental Models and many more are also provided and supported by TK to enable further advances training for all clinicians.

As an OT, we get to enjoy the variety of our role. You could be cooking one session, be an astronaut and fly to the moon the next, followed by facilitating groups later that day. A day at TK or the T is varied and although working with pediatrics can be stressful and overloading, we teach you how to use interactive development models which make it fun and rewarding.

What is a counsellor role at TK or the T like?

At TK and the T, our counsellors are engaged in individualized models of interaction. This means our counsellors use interactive models such as DIR Floor time, Synergetic Play Therapy, Art, Sand, any model you can name! We firmly believe that to develop the social, emotional and reasoning goals our clients have, requires engaging bottom up models, targeting the processing, regulation, planning and cognition skills which foundational to social, emotional and social cognition skills.

We understand that to be able to make changes or development, simply being told or educated on the skill doesn’t work. You need interactive experiences to build the foundation to a skill, before you can apply and reason its use. Our counsellors are trained in advanced skills including sensory integration and neurodevelopmental models which you can apply in our large rooms with trampolines and swings, use our varied toy based equipment or our basketball court or kitchen.

A day as a counsellor at TK or the T enables you to have flexibility in how you support your clients in their journey of development.

Our Speech Pathologists work in fun and engaging rooms with trampolines, slides and swings. We rarely sit at desks during sessions and teach our speechies new and exciting skills such as sensory integration and play based models. As with our OTs, we have a training schedule which commences on your first day. You will have an internal training portal with access to training courses, weekly supervision, Augmented Communication supervision and professional development groups with KPIs based upon experience and training.
